THE DREAM REDUX

THE DREAM REDUX

I’ve spoken a lot about THE DREAM as it was a project close to my heart after watching western movies most of my childhood. I revisited it recently when my daughter said she loved westerns, even bad ones. The film was originally intended to be an inspiration for U S West employees at a convention in Vail, so McElligott intimidated Bill Miller into writing too much. I guess he was afraid for anyone trying to understand the symbolism to misunderstand anything, so I re edited the piece, eliminating the obvious. There is a lot of Howard Hawks and John Ford in there, but I like to steal from the best.
