Snowman

‘The client doesn’t like the snowman.’

‘Why?’

‘He thinks it looks threatening.’

‘It scares him?’

We’ve worked on this thing for weeks (designing and building a special effects animatronic snowman).

‘I don’t think he likes the coal for eyes.’

(Every snowman we researched had coal for eyes, a carrot nose, and sticks for arms.)

‘It is what it is.’

The client’s wife walks in.

‘What a beautiful snowman!’

Day saved. The commercial ran for many years. In fact, I saw it once and felt it looked familiar and then vaguely remembered I had done it.
