I did a Levi’s commercial with John Goodman sitting on a beam. He played a construction worker talking about his ‘tools’ and referring to the jeans as ‘tools.’ I thought he looked good but was a little heavy. If he lost a few pounds, he could be a movie star, especially with that voice.
Well, he gained a few (quite a few) pounds and became a movie star with that voice.
Years later, on a talk show, he disparaged his career in commercials and showed the Levi’s, spot. The host said:
The spot isn’t that bad. In fact, it’s pretty good.
