A friend of mine was one of Guy Bourdin’s favorite models. She had just returned from a shoot with him in Miami.
‘How did it go?’
‘Fine.’
‘What was the shot?’
‘Jourdin shoes.’
‘I know that, but what was the shot?’
Bourdin was known for audacious setups. My friend, Vincent, had worked for him for a bit and told great stories
‘Well, full makeup, hair…’
Bourdain was famous for a certain large hairdo.
‘Wardrobe…’
‘Of course.’
‘Then I lay in a gutter, next to a big car.’
‘He shot you laying in a gutter?’
‘No. They made a chalk mark around me.’
‘A chalk outline?’
‘Exactly.’
‘And…’
‘And, he shot that.’
‘What?’
‘The outline.’
